Majorettes (All Stars)
Silsden All Stars Majorettes
Fridays at 18:00 at Silsden Town Hall
The majorettes group offers an exhilarating activity for young individuals, offering a confidence-boosting interest that emphasises teamwork, fitness, commitment, and discipline. The ‘All Stars’ take part in approximately 25 competitions annually, held at schools, sports clubs, and carnivals across Merseyside, Manchester, Yorkshire and Wales throughout the year, culminating in an end-of-season Championships weekend at Pontins, Prestatyn.
Being a majorette requires skills in twirling, dancing, and marching. During competitions, teams are evaluated based on synchronised movements, straight lines, and consistent knee heights while marching. However, all of these abilities can be learned and improved with practice. In the past, the group has witnessed many members initially lacking these skills but becoming valuable team contributors after a year or two. Therefore, the most valuable attributes for aspiring majorettes are a positive attitude, determination, and a willingness to work hard. The group is always open to new members interested in joining.
