Summer Tea 2020
Every July, we host a Summer Tea for senior residents of Silsden. Unfortunately, this was out of the question this year. However, our incredible volunteers are a determined bunch, and this Sunday they delivered sixty afternoon teas to local people in their 80s and 90s who live alone and have been especially isolated during the lockdown.
We are happy to report that they were all absolutely delighted!
We would like to say a great big THANK YOU to all those who made this possible; to Cathy Liddle for all her hard work in making this happen, Country Kitchen for putting together all that delicious food – and to our six lovely volunteers who delivered them all, our treasuer Julie Holland, and of course to the Harry Beverley Tillotson Trust who funded this. We are so grateful for their generous support, which continues to benefit our community every year, and feels as important as ever in these unprecedented times.
And just look at those cakes… 😋
